It's been quite a while since I've posted anything on my blog. The joys of work and play. However, now that we have the new Eldar 6th codex out and about. I thought I should resurrect this blog to give my views on this new codex, and to push out some battle reports from my local club in the UK, "The Good The Bad The Bromley" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/TGTHTB/).
Here's looking to the future and first blogs for pointy eared space elves!

Game Fourteen - The End?
In the exodite hall of contemplation, Farseer Lord Varshar speaks with the exodite council of seers of H'rus. ' The webway is open and all must leave by the suns down. This planet is doomed. The younglings can not stop the Great Devourer from striping this planet of all life. This I have seen.'
The council of seers looks at each other, and Arathial council leader of the exodites slowly stands up. 'We will do as you say Lord Varshar. However, we may not be able to get all of our brother and sisters moved before suns down'.
'I will send some of my warriors to help the younglings, this will give you more time. I must now go and speak to my brothers and sisters who will sacrifice their lives to save yours'.
The fourteenth game and final game in the Damacles campaign is a fight between the Tyranids and a combined force of the Tau H'rus and Y'ieldi Saemu sept as well as a contingent of Eldar Biel-Tan forces.
Both the Nids and Tau Y'ieldi Saemu sept were one victory point (VP) away from winning the campaign.
The game set-up was an annihilation with a dawn of war deployment. The Eldar contingent would be entering the table on a reserve roll. This was due to the Seer council discussions as to whether to help the Tau.
The game itself was a close run thing with multiple rounds of fire from the Tau joint forces. However, the tyranid wave kept approaching. Once the Eldar arrived to help the younglings, the nid forces recognised the Eldar to be a real threat and concentrated on their demise.
After much shooting and close combat the game came to an end with the nids in a advantageous position. It was decided that the nids had won the day and the planet!

Game Fourteen - The bloody handed god
Farseer Arandur breathed slowly and looked upon the Dire Avengers sitting with her in the wave serpent. She could feel the call of the bloody handed one, and knew that the aspect warriors with her could also feel the need to shed blood. Arandur looked at the rune stones flloating above her open palm and spoke to the Dire Avengers, 'Stand ready brothers, I sense that the time is near'.
The fourteenth game in the Damacles campaign was a battle between the Eldar and the Tau H'Rus sept. This was a Capture and Control mission with a Dawn of War deployment. The Eldar won the toss to deploy first but gave the Tau first deployment.
The Tau deployed in the middle of the table close to the ruins situated to the right of the field. The Eldar did not deploy anything on the table, waiting to roll on from the table edge. The lack of any targets for the Tau commander made him push on towards the Eldar table edge. This unfortunately for the Tau commander was a mistake!. On the Eldar turn the Avatar of Khaine walked onto the table and in two turns had cut down the commander and body guard.
Whilst the Avatar was dealing death to the Tau on the right of the table, the Tau Piranha's and deep striking stealth suits were dealing death against the Eldar Guardians trying to capture and hold their objective on the left of the table.
The game was hard fought, but in the end a lone Guardian held the Eldar objective to win the game!

Game Thirteen - Gribble Gribble Gribble
The thirteenth game in the Damacles campaign was between the Eldar and Tyranids. The set-up was a spearhead and was an annihilation game. The tyranids had gained a vast amount of bio-mass of the past games. Now the big guns/claws came out with both a Hive Tyrant and two Carnifexs on the field!
The game was a bloody affair with Eldar and Gaunt and warriors dying. However, the tide of monstrous creatures was too much and when the dust settled on the sixth turn the nids had won by 10 kills to 6.

Game Twelve - Not so good for the Greater Good
The twelth game in the Damacles campaign was a Tau Tau H'Rus Sept vs Tau Y'ieldi Saemu shoot up as two factions of the greater good clash. Each trying to find out if the other has information that could cause the Tau homeworld clans to hunt them down.
This was a pitched battle, capture and control game. Below are some piccies showing the set-up of the units:
The game ended in a victory to the Y'ieldi Saemu.

Game Eleven - An Autarch's Anger
Autarch Kelthrae tightened his grip on the jet bikes handlebars as he led the shining spears on a flanking move towards the Tau commander. The young lings had deployed on mass to the left of the battlefield. They were trying to concentrate all their firepower on the guardians and wraithlord Nazrain had deployed in the ruins.
'Exarch Arconeath, you and your shining spears will concentrate on the commander and his bodyguard. Ignore the broadside battlesuit, Farseer Faifuithas and the Dire Avengers will deal with it.'
They passed over the trees and Kelthrae looked down at the Kroot who were being pinned by Exarch Angau and his Dark Reapers. The pinning had been constant and had stopped them from shooting at the Warp spiders who had deep striked into the woods.
A withering storm of fire came from the Tau commander and his bodyguard, as well as the remaining stealth suits which had not been struck down by the hail of spinneret fire from the warp spiders. Three of the shining spears were knocked out of the sky. Kelthrae shouted the charge and drew his power sword'
The eleventh game in the Damacles campaign was a Dawn of War Annihilation game between the Tau H'Rus sept and Eldar Biel-Tan. Eldar set up first with across the length of the table as seen below:
The Tau decided not to deploy anything on the table, but walk them on in his turn. This was a cunning plan as he moved all his units onto the left hand side of the table.
The plan may have worked, however the shining spears and Autarch on the jet bike had different plans, turbo-boosting from the middle of the table to engage the Tau commander and bodyguard. The wraithlord in ruins to the left also kept the Tau busy, absorbing multiple rounds of fire from two squads of fire warriors, two Devilfish and two piranha's.
The outcome was a victory to the Eldar.

Game Ten - Four way smash
The tenth game in our campaign was a four way bash between Eldar, Imperial, Tau and Tyranids. Each army had 1000 points and was deployed in the four corners of the table. The primary mission was anniliation. Four secondary missions were available: 2 x Kill a HQ unit, 1 x Capture the high ground and 1 x Capture the manufacturum.
At the end of the game, the only army to come out on top was nids with a overwhelming number of kills and HQ kills.
Below are photos from the game:
